As you know, our final payments are due Oct 15. In prep, a couple tips:
1. As we've discussed, be sure to use a credit card which doesn't charge currency exchange fees. These can be substantial if charged. Most major credit card companies who do not charge fees also give a reasonable/market exchange rate. But, worth checking with your card company to ensure they don't make up the difference on this backside.
2. As for timing of the payment, it looks like the CDN$/US$ is pretty stable in the coming month. See links below. Perhaps a small strengthening of the US$. Not to get political, but as the last article below points out, the current NAFTA negotiations could impact exchange rates and thus impact things for us. But, net is that it looks reasonable to make the payment anytime before the 15th. No need to pay early, or wait. Given the slight strengthening that's predicted, I'll probably watch carefully & wait until early October.
